Empanadas are baked or fried turnovers consisting of a sweet or savory filling. This dish commonly associated with Southern European (Spain) Latin American (Mexican) or Filipino cutlers. Traditionally empanadas are filled with cheese and beef but i am using chicken and cheese.

1 1⁄2 Pkg Goya Empanada wrappers
1⁄2 Cup All purpose Chicken
1⁄2 Cup Cheese Mexican Blend
1 Tbsp Cream cheese
Small jalapeño diced Deseeded
2 Scallions chopped
4 Tbsp Bell pepper diced
1 Tbsp Adobo sauce Optional
Oil For deep frying
Directions
- In a bowl combine all the ingredients.
- Fill the wrappers with 1.5 tsp filling. Turn over the pastry dough. Seal the pastry with fork indentations or your desired method.
- These can be frozen or deep fried on medium high flame for 2 minutes on each side.
- Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce or salsa.
