Empanadas are baked or fried turnovers consisting of a sweet or savory filling. This dish commonly associated with Southern European (Spain) Latin American (Mexican) or Filipino cutlers. Traditionally empanadas are filled with cheese and beef but i am using chicken and cheese. 

I am using my All-Purpose Chicken for the filling

Ingredients

  • 12 Pkg Goya Empanada wrappers

  • 12 Cup All purpose Chicken

  • 12 Cup Cheese Mexican Blend

  • Tbsp Cream cheese

  • Small jalapeño diced Deseeded

  • Scallions chopped

  • Tbsp Bell pepper diced

  • Tbsp Adobo sauce Optional

  • Oil For deep frying

Directions

  • In a bowl combine all the ingredients.
  • Fill the wrappers with 1.5 tsp filling. Turn over the pastry dough. Seal the pastry with fork indentations or your desired method.
  • These can be frozen or deep fried on medium high flame for 2 minutes on each side.
  • Enjoy hot with your favorite dipping sauce or salsa.
