Ingredients
1 lb Chicken Breast chunks
1 Egg
4 tbsp Corn starch (plus more)
1⁄2 tsp Salt
1 tsp White pepper
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1 tsp Cayenne Pepper
1⁄4 cup Bell pepper cubes
1⁄4 cup Green onion sliced (white tops seperate)
1 tbsp Minced ginger
1 tbsp Minced garlic
3-4 Dried red chili’s
3-4 Fresh green chili
Oil as needed
Sesame seeds for garnish
- SAUCE
INGREDIENTS 1 cup Chicken Stock
1 tsp Red chili powder
1⁄2 tsp White pepper powder
2 tbsp Brown sugar
1⁄4 cup Lemon juice
1 tbsp Soy sauce
1⁄4 tsp Salt
LEMON CHICKEN
Directions
- Cut chicken breast into chunks and marinate with salt, white pepper, cayenne pepper and soy sauce.
- Add the egg and cornstarch and coat the chicken.
- Heat 1 cup oil and fry the chicken chunks in batches, remove and set aside.
- Prepare the aromatics, sauce and fried chicken.
- In a wok heat 1 tbsp oil, to this add the dried red chili, fresh green chili, ginger and garlic. Stir fry on high until fragrant and add the bell pepper cubes, flash fry for 30 seconds and add the sauce.
- Make a slurry with 1 tsp cornstarch and 1 tbsp water. When the sauce comes to a boil, add the cornstarch slurry and mix well so there are no lumps and the sauce thickens.
- Add the fried chicken balls when ready to serve! Garnish with green onions and serve with steamed rice or fried rice. Garnish with sesame seeds if you want!
